Large scale redevelopment of the massive Post Office building in downtown Vancouver. The demolition involved the structural removal of the interior structure from the roof to basement while maintaining outside wall structural integrity. In addition, there was the entire removal of the top three floors. The reconstruction involves 2 – 25 story towers at either end being built within the old structure for Amazon’s future Canadian HQ. In total, 40,000 tonnes of concrete and 4000 tonnes of structural steel was removed by mini excavators, skid steer loaders, and tower cranes.
